Maret School is looking for a responsible Homeroom Mentor to help supervise our students in grades K - 5 as they navigate their hybrid on-campus and distance learning experience. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children in this age range, a flexible schedule, a comfort and nimbleness with technology and embrace modeling healthy behaviors in a classroom setting. Professionalism, maturity and the ability to deal with unpredictability are vital in this role. Candidates must have a strong and demonstrated commitment to Equity & Inclusion and reflect Maret's Mission and Core Values. Kindergarten through Fourth Grade Homeroom Mentors will report to Chris Appleby, Director of Lower School and James Roberts, Director of AfterSchool. Fifth and Sixth Grade Homeroom Mentors will report to Dominic Redd, Director of Middle School. This is a contracted position with an option for multi-month renewals.
Supervising students in groups of nine or less for a half or full school day
Maintaining classroom decorum and protocols
Ensuring proper health and safety protocols are followed
Setting up, issuing and disinfecting classrooms and health accessories
Assisting with lunch and recess periods
Collaborating with primary and resource teachers
Guiding students through minor technical issues
Coordinating transitions with the maintenance and cleaning staff
Creating a warm, welcoming and safe environment for learning
Participating in regular meetings and keeping daily lines of communication open with faculty and supervisor
Other duties as assigned by the Division Director or Director of After School
