We are recruiting for a Senior Capital Projects Actuary to join our remarkable UK Capital Projects Team in either our London, Bristol or York office. Aviva's aim is to ensure efficiency by bringing capital project teams together, supporting overall capital allocation and building a 'best in class' capital department. The merged UK and Group Capital Projects Team is a Technical Shared Service Team in the Group's Chief Capital Office and provides proactive identification, review, analysis and execution of large and complex capital projects for UK Life, UK General Insurance, Aviva Insurance International ("AII", Aviva's Group reinsurance entity) and Aviva Group. The role aligns to the Group strategy, you will support with predictable cashflow growth, reduce complexity (e.g. by re-using best ideas), focus resource and energy as well as applying consistent approaches to capital management across Aviva.Â A key aspect of managing our capital position is the design and delivery of capital projects to further optimise capital or address emerging and longer-term issues. You will need to have a strong mix of relationship management, commercial and technical skills (including Solvency II and General Insurance) and a good understanding of insurance products and markets. Responsibilities in the role: Support the Capital Projects Director or Head of Capital Projects and/or Group or Business unit Teams on UK or Group led capital projects, with the focusing on General Insurance Lead the development, investigation, analysis, due diligence and implementation of specific capital projects or workstreams (for all business units supported by the projects team) Ongoing liaison and coordination with Group and AII Capital Management Teams Build productive relationships with internal stakeholders and with external counter parties, focussed on idea generation Lead or support provision of high-quality information on capital management actions across Aviva which are presented at Aviva Board level Prepare or obtain stakeholder input on Steering Group, ALCO etc. papers, communicating status, making business case, seeking approval for proposals Provide high quality, flexible support to meet the objectives of the Group-wide Aviva Capital function Skills and experience we're looking for: Qualified Actuary or Accountant with strong technical skills and General Insurance experience Deep understanding of insurance business High qualitative skills bring sound judgement to facts/data, with strong analytic, interpretative skills Able to provide key insights and identifies key questions and issues, using financial and technical skills Strong understanding of strategic/industry/business issues Deep understanding of capital and financial metrics and financial management Good understanding of commercial, tactical, regulatory, governance and practical considerations affecting capital transactions Ability to lead and manage delivery of multiple capital projects or work-streams, actively managing project risks What will you get for this role?
