The Director of Alumni Relations and Donor Engagement
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Director of Alumni Relations and Donor Engagement reports to and supports the Director of Development and is responsible for the planning and implementation of programs and projects that strategically engage the Senesh alumni, alumni parent and grandparent communities. This position is an exciting opportunity to steward the school’s relationship with these constituencies.
Envision, plan, and execute development events resulting in increased attendance and engagement among constituent/stakeholder groups
Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward alumni/alumni parent and grandparent giving and engagement
Communicate with alumni, alumni parents and grandparents using a variety of vehicles including social media and quarterly newsletters
Coordinate and communicate event and donor engagement strategies and produce event briefings and reports
Work with the Director of Development to create effective fundraising messaging and tailored materials for these constituencies
Identify prospects for major gifts through intensive donor research
Manage a pipeline of donors and prospects
Create content for annual review in partnership with the Director of Development
Establish and build relationships with alumni and alumni parents locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally
Ensure accurate and complete alumni database records
Create opportunities for alumni parent engagement
Create opportunities for alumni engagement including career networking services for alumni, alumni speaker series, and alumni class reunions
Establish and build relationships with Senesh grandparents
Coordination of annual events including Kesher (Grandparents) Day
Create opportunities for grandparent engagement
Event management to include: Creating and tracking event lists, communicating with attendees, developing programs, maintaining budget, managing/analyzing data, staff and troubleshooting events, ordering event materials, arranging meetings, organizing volunteers, etc.
Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred
3-5 years of experience in development and/or alumni relations and fundraising, preferably in independent schools
Event planning experience in fundraising environment preferred
Comfort with software programs, social media, and other technology
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
Detail-oriented and able to work collaboratively
High-energy and enthusiastic about working in an academic atmosphere
Flexible and willing to work some evenings and/or weekends
