The Upper School Mathematics Department is seeking a teacher who is passionate about the study of math, enthusiastic about working with high school students and committed to developing their craft as a teacher. Ideal candidates will have a demonstrated ability to foster students’ mathematical thinking and experience teaching in student-centered environments.

Teach four sections of Math- 2 sections of geometry (problem-based) and 2 sections of honors geometry (problem-based).
Successfully engage and develop student’s interest and enthusiasm for the subject matter
Serve as an advisor for 6-8 students
Attend departmental and divisional meetings, as well as all school events
Participate in the life of the Upper School by attending full group activities (morning meeting, student presentations and performances and culminating events

Bachelor’s degree in Math or related field required, Masters preferred
At least three years of teaching experience, preferred
Understanding of and desire to work with high school students
Familiar with and/and willing to explore student-centered pedagogical approaches
Proven ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Energy, enthusiasm and curiosity – willingness to be a fellow learner with students
Proficient in the use of technology
Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion and a high degree of cultural competency
