Job Description Compliance Advisory
We are looking for a Compliance Adviser who will work within the broader advisory team, taking ownership of key relationships and initiatives across various Octopus entities.
The Octopus Compliance department features an exciting and interesting team, with a goal to protect the business by embedding compliance culture, promoting customer obsession, and supporting Octopus' core values: Be straight forward; be bold; and be helpful. The team has a broad remit, covering all parts of the firm's asset management business and is looking for someone to join the Compliance Advisory unit. The successful candidate will be somebody who is keen to add value and propose solutions beyond the basic expectations of compliance. There will be certain key partnerships within the firm that you will form and it is essential that you look to become a key partner. You will have the opportunity to develop a clear strategy for how you will perform your role at Octopus, and be able to make it happen.
Essential Job Functions
Building/maintaining relationships based on providing clear, reliable and consistent advice around regulatory matters and developments, including working with the HR function regarding the Octopus training and competence programme;
Leading on advice, training and support around the Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR), including providing assistance to the HR department on relevant processes, procedures and requirements;
Maintaining/implementing compliance policies and procedures;
Provide support and training to staff on compliance matters, and reporting management information to the various Committees and Boards
Qualifications Job Specific Experience/Technical Skills/Abilities
Relevant experience in retail and/or institutional asset management
Well organised with the ability to multitask and prioritise workload
Team player with a can-do attitude
Detailed knowledge of the FCA handbook
Experience of preparing and submitting regulatory returns, as well as FCA applications and notifications (via FCA's GABRIEL and CONNECT systems)
Involvement and ownership in delivering on projects relating to Regulatory Developments
Previous experience relating to Outsourcing and 3rd-Party Reliance relationships
