This senior accountant position will support the company’s Contracted Assets segment and will include the accounting for our nuclear power station, solar farm partnerships, and our new renewable natural gas operations. Responsibilities will include monthly closing activities such as posting journal entries, analyzing variances, and completing account reconciliations.
This role will also compile financial statements, assist with year-end audits, and work with various other groups such as tax, treasury, finance, and operations on a routine basis. Experience with partnership/joint venture accounting and the ability to process improve and research is a plus. CPA licensure is preferred.
This senior role is responsible for preparing, reviewing and analyzing fixed asset accounting records, financial statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformity to reporting and procedural standards. Conduct complex assignments and analysis involving accounting projects and the day to day maintenance of a fixed asset subledger (PowerPlan) and general ledger (SAP).
Identify inconsistencies and problems and work to resolve them. Perform appropriate accounting controls. Participate in month-end closing, quarterly and year-end financial reporting activities. Routinely interact with internal and external customers. Advise project teams on specific accounting and internal control issues relevant to new products; major business and organizational events; system conversions, upgrades and enhancements. senior
5+ years of general accounting experience or 4+ years of public accounting experience. (A Master's degree will count as one year of experience. A partial year of six months or more will be rounded up to one year of experience)

Broad knowledge of U.S. General Accounting Principles (GAAP), practices and procedures
Excellent computer skills including strong Excel
