Laguna Blanca School is a college preparatory, coeducational day school located on two campuses in Santa Barbara, California. Grades EK-4 are located on a quaint campus in Montecito, while Grades 5-12 are located on Laguna’s historic campus in idyllic Hope Ranch. Laguna Blanca emphasizes its core values of scholarship, character, balance, and community in its programs.
Laguna is looking for Substitute teachers that will be on our Hope Ranch campus each day to cover classes, and fulfill other duties such as morning check-in, lunch supervision, etc. Must be comfortable being in person on campus with students. Shifts will be 4-5 hours daily.
Competitive applicants will possess the following skills and attributes:
Experience teaching elementary, middle school, and/or high school students
Knowledge of interdisciplinary teaching and differentiated instruction
Ability to address a range of student learning styles
An interest in collegial collaboration and curriculum development
High energy level
Strong communication skills, including verbal and written
Use and knowledge of technology in education
Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
Ability to successfully develop and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, students, and families
Laguna Blanca implemented and follows all safety protocols as recommended by the CDC and County Public Health. Upon hire, the applicant must complete a LiveScan, TB Test, and Covid test and submit to periodic maintenance testing for Covid.
