We are working for an international private equity fund which targets market-leading performance by investing in sustainable businesses. The firm has a track record of successful investments across buy-out, growth capital and buy and build. Current assets under management are EUR1.2bn, with the next fund already anticipated, driven by strong demand from international LPs.
Our client acquires mostly majority stakes in dynamic businesses from any sector with an accent on sustainability. Equity tickets are typically EUR30-100m, with flexibility on either side. The focus on sustainability is aligned with global secular megatrends of increased population density and scarcity of natural resources.
We are hiring new team members under a new Partner, Germany, of which this role will be the most critical. The German business was established in 2012. Additionally, our client has offices in London, Milan and Paris, with well developed internal structures to support successful growth. The German business is planning an ambitious period of activity which will result in attractive prospects for career development (results-dependent).
The role would suit a person with a highly entrepreneurial mindset who is willing to do what it takes to build a strong investment footprint in Germany. There will be a focus on origination, including representation of the firm to acquisition targets and commitment to delivering the best deals with the right principles.

Lead the pursuit of new acquisition opportunities by proactively seeking out relationships with sustainability-driven, entrepreneurial organizations. Present your investment ideas to the investment committee
Responsible for the preparation of internal documentation and representation of the opportunity internally, managing the process independently
Manage due diligence process across various parties independently, as well as orchestrate the entire acquisition process
Lead and manage team members: hiring, on boarding, in addition to managing and developing direct reports and other team members as appropriate
Partner proactively with portfolio companies to deliver transformative growth stories, steering companies through to a successful exit. Board representation, driving change from within.
Demonstrably successful private equity track record and deal leadership in mid cap buyouts in the DACH region
Strategic visionary, credible when articulating growth plans to a wider audience of stakeholders
Ability to operate in an international context, partnering with offices in other European locations
High energy, with a hunger to do deals
Able to demonstrate interest in and passion for sustainability trends
Comfortable with creating rapport and trust with business owners
A strong educational background from a top university or business school
Excellent interpersonal skills with fluent English and native standard German language skills.
