The Safety Coordinator manages the Cooperative's safety plan by promoting and managing a safety culture throughout the entire Cooperative. Administers the Cooperative’s safety programs to ensure compliance with multiple regulatory agencies. Implements proactive measures to reduce and eliminate hazards through employee training, protective materials and equipment, analyzing work areas, and promoting understanding of Cooperative safety procedures. This position works closely with Cooperative personnel and outside vendors.
Directs employees in developing, implementing, measuring and reporting the Cooperative's safety plan. Provides feedback to leadership and the Board of Trustees on safety culture and plans.
Ensures compliance with regulations of multiple agencies and maintains documentation as needed for compliance.
Measures outcomes of programs for efficiency and desired behavioral outcome.
Makes reports of measurable goals to management staff and Board of Trustees.
Creates, maintains and is accountable for the safety budget to meet organizational goals.

Other position requirements:
Associates degree in Electrical, Energy, or related field and 5 years experience in electric utility industry. Work experience may be substituted for the education requirement as well as additional education may be substituted for work experience.
Knowledge of electrical line work or Journeyman Lineman background preferred.
Valid Oklahoma Driver’s License
Ability to obtain safety certifications, such as Certified Loss Control Professional (CLCP) within a reasonable period as determined by management.
