The City of Sunrise is seeking a result driven, motivated, experienced, enthusiastic, and dynamic individual who will apply their talent and experience with various duties related to municipal engineering plan review and permitting of site civil and right-of-way work including utility projects, land development projects, and municipal engineering within the City of Sunrise municipal limits and utility service area.
Responsibilities include the review of engineering design plans and specifications of paving, storm water, potable water, sanitary sewer, roadway, utility improvements and other miscellaneous civil engineering work on private property and within right-of-way to determine compliance with City code and other applicable regulations. Additional responsibilities include but not limited to the review of permit applications, assistance with maintenance of division standards and policies, coordinator with engineers, contractors, consultants, residents, and business owners to assist with proper permitting for construction of projects.
Desirable Experience and Training
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field and a minimum of two (2) years of experience in professional engineering work, construction management, preferably with experience in design or review of site civil engineering
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of GED equivalency diploma AND a minimum of seven (7) years of work experience within the field of civil engineering, construction management, preferably with experience in design or review of site civil engineering.
Possession of valid Florida driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
