ASME (American Society for Mechanical Engineers) is a world-renowned, member-based professional organization focused on serving the technical, educational and other programmatic needs of the engineering and technology communities on a worldwide basis. ASME generates approximately $115 million annually from the sale of products and services and provides a wide range of mission focused programs and activities. We currently are seeking a Client Support Specialist to join the Industry Events team.
ASME Industry Events connect industry with technology providers to drive business transformation and build a community around key technologies. We accomplish this via in-person and virtual events, webinars, newsletters and more.
The Client Support Specialist provides support to internal and external stakeholders in the Industry Events team including sponsors, sales, operations, and customer success. The CSS ensures an excellent customer experience by assisting with sales-related issues, asset creation, order entry, deliverables, contracts, customer accounts, and onboarding. Additionally, the CSS will also enter and track data in sales databases, maintain customer data, and create reports.
This role will conduct regular outbound service calls to answer questions, ensure marketing participation and engagement, gain information, and identify upsell opportunities to the sales team. The CSS nurtures customer relationships to promote retention and loyalty, ensure customers are fully engaged and receive the value they expect. The CSS will identify opportunities for product enhancements via customer interactions and share those with the team.
The CSS is organized, efficient, and understands ASME processes for event operations, marketing, invoicing, contracts, and customer data for fulfillment of package elements. Also, to advocate customer issues as needed.
Programs range from virtual events, webinars and workshops to multi-track conferences; tradeshow exhibits and exhibit floor content and newsletters. Tracking and fulfillment of sponsorship packages and marketing opportunities is a key responsibility.
Performance will be measured by customer satisfaction and retention, sales goals, and meeting event production timelines.

Ideal candidate must have a High School Diploma, Bachelor or Associate degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field preferred. Candidate must have proven work experience (3-5 years) in customer service, sales, marketing or equivalent. Tradeshow, conference, advertising, media or events experience preferred.
