PowerSouth Energy Cooperative, an electric generation and transmission cooperative serving Alabama and Northwest Florida, is seeking a Right of Way Vegetation Specialist II in the Transmission O&M Department at the Headquarters Office located in Andalusia, Alabama. The purpose of this position is to provide project coordination and field inspection of work performed by contractors or PowerSouth force account labor related to right of way vegetation management and maintenance projects. Assures that contracts are completed according to established plans and all work follows regulatory requirements. Performs ground and aerial transmission line vegetation inspections. Candidate must possess two (2) year degree in forestry, forest technology, or a closely related field or a minimum of twelve (12) months’ experience in right of way vegetation management and maintenance or a closely related field. The incumbent must possess the ability to work cooperatively with others, the ability to demonstrate the use of sound judgment and discretion, as well as, possess organizational skills and abilities and be capable of being on the PowerSouth switching list and clearance list.
