The Director will lead a team focused on recruiting for all attorney and professional staff roles firm-wide. Balancing day-to-day tactical management with strategy development, this role will collaborate regularly with firm shareholder and administrative leadership to ensure that the firm’s recruiting strategy is aligned with the firm’s overall growth strategy. This role will report directly to the firm’s Chief Talent Officer and will work closely with the Attorney Professional Development, Diversity and Inclusion, and Learning and Development departments to ensure the successful integration, engagement, and development of OD talent. In addition to the day-to-day tactical leadership of the firm’s recruiting team, s/he will create, develop, and implement effective and innovative processes and industry-leading best practices for all aspects of the recruiting life cycle while accomplishing these and other critical functions:
Essential Functions:
Lead the creation and execution of comprehensive recruiting strategies to attract, recruit, and onboard top talent, using both traditional and innovative sources to create a pipeline of qualified candidates with a focus on diverse talent.
Oversee and direct all aspects of the summer associate recruitment process.
Oversee and direct all lateral attorney and staff recruitment, including working with administrative and shareholder leadership on strategic lateral shareholder recruitment.
Serve as a thought partner and resource for local office leadership and functional administrative teams with regard to legal support staffing and other administrative staffing needs and recruiting; work with the director of administration and department directors to provide guidance and, as needed and appropriate, manage the recruiting process.
Oversee development of communication and marketing materials, including the OD careers website, social media, and electronic communications.
Assess and report on market intelligence, staying abreast of developments in recruiting to ensure that the firm’s recruiting strategy and processes are innovative and effective.
Own the recruiting budget to ensure the best, most effective use of firm resources.
Working with the director of administration and department directors, when appropriate, to manage and provide guidance to practice office recruiting managers and teams.
Lead and develop a strong, professional, and responsive team of subject-matter experts.
Serve as the subject matter expert with regard to recruiting platforms and technology; streamline and improve existing recruiting processes and tools with a constant focus on continuous improvement and efficiency.
Collaborate with other directors and senior executives as a member of the firm’s administrative leadership team.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree and 10+ years of law firm recruiting experience, including 3+ years in a management role.
Preference for candidates with a Juris Doctor degree and experience in the practice of law.
Strong commitment to client service.
Excellent communication skills both oral and written as well as a positive, high-energy professional demeanor; ability to present the firm’s recruiting protocols in a clear and concise manner at firm events.
Knowledge of legal employment issues.
Sensitivity towards the needs of diverse and multicultural constituencies.
Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm.
Strong organizational skills needed to manage time well, prioritize effectively, and handle multiple, competing deadlines.

Excellent computer and technical skills, including PowerPoint, Excel and database management.
Ability to travel up to 30% of the time post-pandemic.
