EY Center for Career Advancement has an opening for an outstanding individual to serve as a Career Coach for Foster Business School student populations (undergraduates and specialized masters). The Career Coach provides innovative career development services and activities for Foster business students. This position reports to the Foster Career Center Executive Director and works in collaboration with other career services staff to enhance the career and professional development of Foster students.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Career advising and programming • Serves as the career coach to Foster business student populations. Primary focus is undergrad business students w/ support to some specialized master’s populations. Provides individual career counseling and assessment • Develops career programming and resources dedicated to the success of Foster students. • Develops and conducts career preparation workshops and events • Works with career advising team in developing materials and resources for career advising and programming • Facilitate quarterly event planning strategy and logistics meetings • Responsible for coordinating, creating, and distributing quarterly event calendar • Career Coach liaison to work with program coordinator on event marketing materials and execution • Creates career content and updates for student career web portal
Career and community outreach • Interfaces with student business clubs, faculty, and Foster departments to provide niche programming for specific populations • Works closely with UW Career Center, MBA Career Services, and other campus departments to collaborate and create effective programming and resources for Foster students • Support efforts in Career Class and Internship for Credit course execution
Undergrad program activities and special projects • Assist in the overall strategy and evaluation of the EY Center for Career Advancement • Assume shared responsibility for assessing and modifying/updating web site content related to Career Services • Serve and participate on Foster and University committees as assigned or designated • Support Foster Undergraduate Programs events and participate fully in a fast-moving team environment where everyone is expected to roll-up her/his sleeves and contribute whenever possible • Conducts and assists with special projects and activities, including outreach efforts, orientations, and other activities throughout Foster Business School and UW community. Represents Foster Undergraduate Career Services to various organizations on and off campus • Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor’s degree • 2+ years of career planning or related business, industry, college relations, or higher education experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. • Flexibility to work selected evening and weekend events and workshops
Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum requirements.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Master’s degree preferred • Strong communication skills. Ability to communicate successfully with a variety of audiences across all levels of an organization • Experience creating, coordinating, and delivering programs/services • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high volume, team-oriented office setting • Exhibit strong attention to detail • Enjoy working with a diverse student body • Able to make independent decisions based on University and Foster School policies and procedures • A high degree of comfort with technology and data and social media • Project management skills • Experience creating program and services for underclass student populations • Experience working with student clubs and campus diversity programs
