The Neaman Center for Personalized Medicine is looking for a genetic counselor interested in working with our multi-disciplinary team on precision medicine research initiatives at NorthShore University Health System. Project areas may include pharmacogenomics, population genetic testing, return of research results, and other programs related to patient, physician, and community engagement. This position provides support to both the Center for Medical Genetics and support to physician investigators and research scientists in the Center for Personalized Medicine.
Responsibilities typically include coordination with study investigators to plan and implement new research projects, assistance with design and tracking, participating in data collection, monitoring quality assurance, development/management of study databases, and writing up study findings. This position assists in writing grants for submission to internal and external funders and administers procedures necessary to ensure compliance with the NorthShore Institutional Review Board. Human subjects research management is a key aspect of this role.
Experience: Successful experience in completing efficient health-related research, with associated analysis and write-up. Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines with attention to detail. Experience with qualitative and/or statistical software a plus.
Education: MS degree in genetic counseling from a program accredited by ABGC
