Role: Test Automation Engineer

Job Type: 12 months contract with option of extension

Location: Lausanne

We are looking for an experienced Test Automation Engineer with extended knowledge of Selenium and back end system development expertise with Java. You will be working in a complex application landscape where you will work closely with development and support teams ensuring the quality of mission critical Risk & Compliance Systems wherever possible. The candidate is expected to conduct manual testing as well as provide automation capabilities using testing frameworks like Cucumber & Selenium. The delivery pace is high, and some pressure is to be expected.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with fellow developers to define the automated testing components that will be used to validate requirements against developed software
• Work with team members in adopting and learning test automation techniques
• Execute automated testing on both Web Front end and back end systems
• Run test validations at various levels including DB validation, rules validation, logging validation, and UI validation
• Work on issues reported by customers and internal teams and resolve them
• Provide feedback to base development, QA, and Support on how to improve the quality of the product
• Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs
• Work on development of diagnostic tools

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent work experience
• 3 to 5 years of experience in QA automation and/or programming and development
• Test automation scripting (from scratch) is required. We are open to various scripting languages, but candidates must have a strong work history in a few different scripting languages
• Strong object-oriented coding background. Solid understanding of object oriented programming languages
• Experience developing in Java, JavaScript is highly desirable. Minimum 2 years of hands on coding experience in creating functions, methods, and programs
• Good understanding of software development methodologies and quality processes
• High energy; ability to manage in a dynamic environment
• Excellent communication, written and verbal skills
• Team-player, quick learner and proactive
• BS or MS degree. Computer Science or related degrees is highly sought
• Experience in tools like Selenium, Cucumber, Behave

The ideal candidate must be willing to relocate to Lausanne or be based here.
