Maryvale Preparatory School is seeking a part-time Math Academic Coach for the 2021-2022 school year. This position is an exempt, part-time (4-day a week), 10-month position. The ideal candidate will work with the staff of the St. Julie Billiart Program and the Center of Academic Excellence, in collaboration with faculty, to provide ongoing math support to students with language-based learning challenges both in the middle and upper school. The candidate will have a strong academic record with experience and successfully pass a criminal background check. This position will report directly to the Director of St. Julie Billiart Program.

The Math Academic Coach duties include:
Provide individual and small group math support for students in grades 6-12
Assist math faculty in the design and implementation of appropriate lesson plans to meet the academic needs and learning style of the students
Assist in providing testing conditions for regularly scheduled math tests, midterm/final exams, and appropriate standardized assessments to foster maximum concentration and success for students with learning supports
Working closely with the Directors of the St. Julie Billiart and Center of Academic Excellence Programs and administration through regular meetings
Participate in the school community with other duties as assigned
The ideal candidate will possess:
Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education or Math required; Master’s Degree preferred; MSDE certification preferred
Experience in an independent school setting preferred
Strong interpersonal, communication, and technology skills
Innovative strategies for multi-sensory instruction of math concepts from basic math through Pre-calculus and Statistics
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Willingness to work collaboratively with administration, faculty, and parents
Eagerness to embrace the mission and values of Maryvale and our connection to the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur
