This position is in our Innotescus division. We are looking for a high-energy Business Development Manager with the broad set of skills and experiences matched to a high growth tech startup. Responsible for the development and performance of user acquisition activities. Staff and directs a sales team and provides leadership towards the achievement of maximum growth in line with company mission and values. This is a key and influential role with significant opportunity to advance as the sales organization expands. This position reports directly to the COO. Principal/Essential Duties: - Primary owner of customer acquisition life cycle
- Develop and execute strategies for lead generation, new business, sales, and other matters related to customer acquisition and revenue growth
- Work closely with the marketing team in the development and implementation of a sales outreach program
- Methodically prospect, qualify, build, and manage an accurate sales pipeline
- Maintain a high volume of meaningful sales activity
- Skillfully deliver web-based product demos
- Manage the CRM customization and ongoing development to meet reporting
- Manage strategic relationships with customers, distributors and strategic partners
- Function independently on regular duties. Complete assignments with minimal direction and guidance from management
- Lead, motivate, and energize internal and external team members to produce a winning capture effort
- All other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: - Self-starter, ability to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing tech startup environment
- Ability to run consultative sale process identifying customer needs and communicating technical valuable proposition
- Roll up your sleeves attitude and do whatever it takes to make things successful no matter what the problem or area
- Experience utilizing CRM, preferably in Hubspot, including pipeline management and reporting
- Proven ability to prospect customers through online and offline channels
- Experience selling a technical B2B SaaS product
- Ability to manage, coach and mentor team
- Ability to adhere to and manage against defined sales processes
Experience/Education Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferable in Business, Computer Science or Engineering
- MBA preferred
- 7+ years of experience in sales or sales management preferable with SaaS products
Working Conditions/Physical Demands: - While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to:
- Travel up to 20% to conferences, trade shows and customers nationwide as needed
- Ability to deal with stressful situations as they arise
- Perform sedentary work - exerting up to ten pounds of force occasionally. Some work will be sedentary work which involves sitting most of the time.
- See and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity; standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching and other similar tasks requiring physical activity and repetitive motions
- Operate standard office equipment including a computer, copier, fax, phone and other similar office equipment as well as sophisticated lab equipment
- Work setting is primarily office-based but conditions may involve limited exposure to chemicals, emitted radiation, fumes, dust, odors, gases and other substances when in a laboratory or field environment. Employees whose work setting may involve these substances will be informed by their managers regarding the nature of these substances and may request PPE as necessary.
