Cybersecurity Research Technician
National Renewable Energy Laboratory
The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), located at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Golden, Colorado, is the nation’s primary laboratory for research and development of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies. Our Energy Security and Resilience Center (ESR) has an immediate need for a Research Technician - Cybersecurity . This position will be centered around integrated systems research and development, including controls, mechanical and electrical systems, automated detection, and diagnostics for research systems, building management systems and interfaces, advances in system operation and maintenance, retro-commissioning of research systems, advanced controller development, systems simulation, balance of plant simulation, and system integration. The Research Technician will be developing and deploying NREL’s world-leading Cyber Energy Emulation Platform (CEEP), which enables research and development of telecommunications infrastructure, cybersecurity, and interoperability for our rapidly transforming energy systems. Responsibilities will include collaboration with the CEEP software development team to develop, enhance and deploy the software within NREL's Energy Systems Integration Facility (ESIF) and the Advanced Research on Integrated Energy System (ARIES) platform.

Basic Qualifications Research Tech I - High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 or more years of experience. Or, associate degree in computer science, cybersecurity, electrical engineering or related or certification program of comparable scope or equivalent relevant education/experience.
