Dental Director

SUMMARY:

The Dental Director is responsible for providing clinical leadership, fostering superior quality patient care, developing dental strategic goals and direction, and providing for the recruitment and retention of the dental staff at IHC. Oversees the day-to-day operations of the dental department, implementing programmatic and administrative policies and procedures. Serves as a working Dentist maintaining a patient case load and delivers effective and efficient patient care.

• Must have a mastery of interpersonal skills and possess the ability to interpret complex medical data.
• This role requires creativity and high energy along with strong public relations abilities, professionalism, a positive attitude, and motivational skills.
• Thorough knowledge of principles of modern dental practices to public services; structure and functions of public health organizations; and current social and economic problems pertaining to Native Americans.
• General knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to public health.
• Ability to plan, supervise, and execute a local health program.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships; coordinate activities among public, public, private, and professional groups; express ideas clearly and concisely; address audiences effectively; and exercise balanced judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions.
