RESPONSIBILITIES
Contribute to the development of ICON’s concrete 3D-printed (C3DP) wall system to maximize human comfort, safety, experience, and sustainability
Development construction drawings and building envelope CAD details for wall cladding systems, window and door systems, waterproofing, and roofing details and drawings
Coordinate with architects, builders, and end users to discuss design concepts pertaining to the building envelope and develop wall system details specific to ICON’s construction processes
Development of detailed BIM models and assemblies using various 2D and 3D CAD and graphics packages
Document wall assembly details and design schemes
Produce details and drawings that comply with contract documents and applicable building code
Perform technical reviews of shop drawings and construction administration submittals prepared by 3rd party contractors
Participate in the evaluation of ICON’s building systems and building designs against various regulatory and testing regimes
Develop remedial work recommendations and plans for existing building projects
QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of professional experience in complex, multi-disciplinary design and analysis projects
Professional Degree in Architecture (Masters of Architecture or accredited 5 year Bachelor of Architecture
Knowledge of AutoCad, Revit, NavisWorks, Rhino and Microsoft Office and Google Suite
Experience coordinating and reviewing all disciplines involved in the preparation of construction documents (architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, etc)
Technical detailing and the ability to develop design options in collaboration with the technology and operations teams
Experience in Construction Administration including RFI's, submittals and other general construction related correspondence
Ability to take initiative in response to direction from managers and feedback from peers
Able to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong knowledge of building envelope systems including wall cladding systems, curtain wall, window and door systems, waterproofing, and roofing details, including their installation means and methods
Working knowledge of test methods and standards associated with the testing of building envelope systems (primarily, but not limited to – AAMA/ASTM testing standards)
Exceptional written and verbal communication with an emphasis on interpersonal and organizational skills
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Tekla/ Dynamo experience is a plus
Architectural Licensing preferred
Proactive problem-solving skills
Proficiency in energy and daylight modeling software is highly desirable (e.g. DIVA, Radiance, IES)
LEED accredited Professional.
Interest in sustainable design, novel architectural technologies, the craft of construction, and humanity’s future
