The Energy Analyst is the primary data, analytics & reporting support for CBRE's regional Energy & Sustainability program leaders (also known as Integration Managers) for a specific CBRE Client account. This role delivers actionable insights from environmental and utility data and assists in the deployment and management of a comprehensive energy & sustainability program for a single geographic region in which the CBRE Client operates (Americas, EMEA, or APAC). This includes analysis from a variety of Client driven programs. These initiatives and results could come from Energy Engineering projects, Utility source use and cost data, carbon reporting, and coordination with other Account and Platform Teams.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Collect and analyze monthly electricity, water/sewer and natural gas/oil usage data with commentary on actual usage versus expected usage, coordinate with appropriate stakeholders to explain meaningful variances.
Manage and operate CBRE's data management platforms to ensure all Client sustainability data is up to date and accurate.
Review data and validate energy savings resulting from operational programs which curtail energy consumption.
Compare collected data against industry benchmarks and prepare reports of findings to support Client's global financial reporting, global GHG inventory & data management, sustainability target status reporting, and other ad-hoc reporting.
Lead the analysis of various informational outputs from partner systems, internal program components and system tools.
Coordinate energy and sustainability initiatives, monitor compliance, analyze and communicate externally facing reporting.
Draft occupant communications for periodic distribution that suggest ways business units and employees can participate to contain energy consumption and costs.
Review non-telecom utility bills (i.e., electricity, natural gas, oil and municipal water and sewer) for accuracy and verify that they are in compliance with the associated rates and tariffs.
Prepare and analyze monthly utility data and review with regional CBRE Integration Managers to validate normalized savings, develop exception reports for senior management, explanation of potential variances due to awareness program, and year-over-year trends
Work closely with regional CBRE Integration Managers and on-site staff in all levels of Client's organization
Work and coordinate with CBRE energy platform to enhance current service offering

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university in Economics, Engineering, Sustainability or other related field and a minimum of one year of related experience and/or training.
CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES
None required, CEM preferred.
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex business documents. Possess excellent writing skills for reports, manuals, speeches, articles, and communications using distinctive styles and various delivery methods. Ability to respond effectively to complex inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, supervisor, and/or management. Ability to make effective presentations on complex topics to an internal department, large group of employees, clients, and/or management. Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with client groups to take desired action.
Requires intermediate knowledge of financial terms and principles. Conducts intermediate financial analysis. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and averages.
Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.
OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIES
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Intermediate skills with remainder of MS Office Suite. Ability to learn and utilize applications such as Capturis, Envizi, Energy Star Portfolio Manager, and Tableau.
