The American Forest Foundation seeks a highly motivated candidate to join the Finance Team in managing the organizational finances. In this role, you will work with the Vice President of Finance and Administration and team to perform day to day financial and accounting functions of the organization, including financial reporting and financial systems optimization activities. You will lead and support the annual budget process and be the point person to engage in helping to provide information that will enable the leaders to make finance decisions.
The primary functions of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Compiles financial information and assists in the preparation of reports.
Builds templates and provides timely and accurate financial reports from different systems.
Performs and monitors forecasting, modeling, and budgeting activities.
Manage day-to-day financial activities to include recording, classifying, and summarizing financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
Coordinates with program directors annual budget activities and reporting.
Builds intra-company transactions reports and perform general ledger adjustments as needed.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned, including general accounting, accounts payable, grants management and reporting, and any other financial and accounting duties assigned.
Ensures AFF policies and procedures, financial standards and legal requirements are met.

Bachelor’s degree in finance, business or similar field from an accredited college or university with at least three years of work experience in a related field required or master’s degree in finance, business or similar field.
Strong GAAP knowledge, quantitative, analytical, data modeling and forecasting skills.
Proven budget building abilities and enjoys working with multiple systems
Excellent auditing skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to coordinate multiple staff to compile, review, and submit financial information, reports and other documents in a timely fashion.
A sound work ethic with the ability to act both independently and as part of a team.
