Key Business Partner to Pricing Operations, Commercial, and other enterprise-wide stakeholders with responsibility for cross-reference activities and decisions. This position evaluates laboratory service code source data and multiple variables including incumbent laboratory service code & description, CPT code, LOINC code, methodology, specimen source, and clinical utility when making cross-reference decisions critical to the viability and accuracy of Quest Diagnostics client bill pricing activities and other analytics.
Client pricing is a critical element considered by clients when choosing their clinical laboratory vendors. Accuracy of the service code cross-reference is critical to our success. This position leads a team of Cross-Reference Analysts that work directly with Pricing Operations, Commercial, and other enterprise-wide teams to ensure cross-reference activities are completed accurately, in a timely manner, and with cross-functional alignment. This position supports cross-referencing for multiple customer segments and client bill pricing activities. Responsibilities:
Cross-reference laboratory services available in the marketplace to services available from Quest Diagnostics to enable client bill pricing activities and other analytics.
This position leads a team of Cross-Reference Analysts that work directly with Pricing Operations and Commercial teams to cross-reference services to Quest Diagnostics service codes from various sources including information provided from clients, vendor websites and internal service compendiums. Ensures cross-reference activities are completed accurately, in a timely manner, and with alignment between Pricing Operations, Commercial, and other enterprise-wide stakeholders.
Provide workflow support to cross-reference team:
Manage and prioritize workflow for cross-reference team
Ensure appropriate allocation of resources and assignment of team members to meet deadlines
Identify and maintain quality control standards for cross-reference activities
Develop and implement continuous process improvement initiatives
Create and implement training guidelines for new cross-reference and pricing analysts
Manage and build out cross-reference libraries, resources, and tools
Provide performance and development support to Cross-Reference Analysts
Build strategic relationships with Commercial, Pricing Operations, National Accounts, Laboratory, and Clinical Franchise
Provide cross-reference analysis support to the Commercial function:
Support Pricing Operations pricing & analysis activities for Commercial channels with cross-reference analyses with an emphasis on identifying exact and closest available match recommendations
Liaise with Clinical Franchise, Commercial, Laboratory Operations, Laboratory Medical Professionals, Commercial and Marketing in identifying match recommendations
Cross-reference analysis source material may include any combination of client provided documentation and service menu data points from Quest Diagnostics Business Units, Joint Ventures and competing vendors
Provide cross-reference analysis support to the enterprise:
Support other Corporate, Enterprise-wide, Finance and Clinical Franchise initiatives as needed
Provide cross-reference analytical support for special projects or other assignments
Create and maintain cross-reference compendiums for competing vendors
Develop, seed and maintain a library of cross-reference matches to support cross-reference dependent initiatives
Accountabilities / Metrics:
Ensure projects are assigned within established guidelines and assigned based on identified priority
Ensure projects are completed with accuracy and in a timely manner meeting required deadlines
Ensure project requirements are identified and questions are addressed with stakeholders
Ensure cross-mapping insights are provided to stakeholders
Ensure cross-reference libraries, resources, and tools are expanded and actively maintained
Due to the variety of duties and responsibilities and the wide array of individual seeking cross-reference analytical support (often with customer-driven deadlines), required working hours may not always conform to a typical work week.
Requirements for the Cross-Reference Team Lead Role:
Required Medical Technology certification or previously qualified as a Technologist.
Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences including Biology, Molecular Genetics, Cellular Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Genetics, Anatomic Pathology, Chemistry; is preferred
Minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare industry, laboratory industry, hospital industry, referral testing, specimen
Experience in medical, healthcare or clinical lab testing environments preferred
Strong clinical laboratory services acumen
Strong analytical capabilities
Solid business judgement, critical thinking and analytical ability to create and determine recommendations and make decisions
Effective Framing and Influencing, able to articulate solutions and options and get buy-in from key Stakeholders
Strong interpersonal skills, team-work oriented and ability to work successfully in a matrixed, highly collaborative and fast paced work environment
