The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center has engaged AMN Healthcare to conduct a national search for an outstanding and accomplished physician leader to lead the disciplines comprising the Division of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine (DPLM).
The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center (MDACC) is the premier research-intensive comprehensive cancer center in the nation. It has been ranked the No. 1 hospital for cancer care in the nation by U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Hospitals” survey for 2021 and has been either first or second in this ranking since 1990. MDACC also ranks first in the number of research grants awarded by the National Cancer Institute.
MDACC is engaged in an era of major investment and growth, and its leadership is committed to being the premier cancer center of the 21st Century- that is particularly focused on delivering cures through its “Moon Shots” Program (https://www.mdanderson.org/cancermoonshots.html). Led by MDACC President, Peter Pisters, MD and MDACC Chief Medical Executive, Walela Tereffe, MD, the organization’s energy and optimism is palpable.

He/she must be a respected leader who is operationally savvy, highly knowledgeable of cutting-edge science, and a visionary leader in the new age of pathological science.
The next Division Head will inherit an exceptional foundation for the inevitable trajectory of DPLM towards recognition for leading edge research and exceptional clinical oncologic pathology services.
