Regulatory Reporting Policy is responsible for interpreting regulatory reporting requirements, identifying and overseeing changes and implementation to regulatory reporting requirements and providing training and awareness across the organization.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive finance expertise, technical accounting skills and deep knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Perform and document technical research and interpretations to ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.
Provide guidance on regulatory reporting requirements for new, unusual, significant and/or complex transactions and products
Establish and oversee monitoring routines to stay abreast of industry/accounting and regulatory issues and publications to ensure company compliance with reporting requirements.
Lead problem resolution by collaborating with stakeholders to resolve such issues, and providing timely responses and solutions as required
Engage with Internal and External Stakeholders including Regulators and Auditors
This individual will have at least 10+ years of experience and a distinguished record of performance as an accounting professional including progressive leadership roles at a major diversified financial institution. Prior career experience with a major public accounting firm or is also highly desirable. In addition, the individual will possess the following:
Proven and proactive accounting professional with successful track record of providing positive leadership
Extensive experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Extensive experience and knowledge of US regulatory reporting requirements within the banking and financial services industry.
Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills.
Effective, high energy business partner with the ability to influence, collaborate, and work across the organization, with the CFO, CAO, controllers, treasury, tax and other finance leaders.
Ability to interface with external stakeholders including regulators and external auditors.
Strong initiative, comfortable working within an entrepreneurial environment and assuming a strong sense of ownership over all accounting-related matters.
Candidate must possess an undergraduate degree in accounting and/or business administration. CPA designation preferred
