We are seeking a visionary, passionate, and collaborative person to lead our school’s athletics program. The Director of Athletics will oversee a dynamic athletic program for elementary through high school levels with a new state of the art athletic center opening in January 2022. Duties include but not limited to: engaging and encouraging students in the school's athletic teams and events, enforcing school expectations of students, staff and patrons; hiring, mentoring and evaluation of staff; overseeing student standards for eligibility; interpreting MSHSAA rules and regulations; overseeing the scheduling of contests and the personnel needed to host events; supervision of contests; will be the liaison between the program and the upper and middle school division heads; and act as an advocate for the school. The department includes a supportive staff of two Assistant Athletic Directors (middle and upper school), a certified athletic trainer, a certified strength and conditioning coach and an administrative assistant. Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant work experience required, C.A. A. certification (Certified Athletic Administrator), through the National Federation of State High Schools is preferred.
The Pembroke Hill School is a co-ed independent college preparatory school with two campuses serving early childhood through high school and located in Kansas City, Missouri. Bachelor’s Degree in athletic administration, PE or related discipline or equivalent. Master’s degree strongly preferred.
10 yrs teaching experience in PE and/or coaching. Min. 3-5 yrs athletics administration
Strong computer literacy.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills – verbal and in writing with a professional and empathetic approach.
Proven ability to lead and provide vision for all athletic programs.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task effectively.
Detail oriented and able to work collaboratively.
High-energy and enthusiastic about working in an academic atmosphere.
