The Associate Director, eLearning oversees the strategic vision for the AAN eLearning program, including analyzing current initiatives, recommends and implements future high-quality eLearning programs, and oversees development of current AAN high-quality eLearning programs. Manages and administers the education offerings in the Learning Management System (LMS). This role also ensures the AAN eLearning portfolio is developed within the scope of AAN strategic goals, ACCME accreditation standards and required grant deliverable.
eLearning Program Oversight
Oversee all associated processes and production for current eLearning programs. This includes but is not limited to:
•Oversight of eLearning product suite including: RITE®, NeuroLearn, NeuroSAE, NeuroPI, Annual Meeting on Demand, NeuroReady, Question of the Day, Education on Demand
•Design, implement, and oversee the eLearning growth strategy.
•Pursue innovation with emerging instructional technologies and teaching methodologies.
•Analyze current eLearning programs to identify opportunities for enhancements and product growth to better meet member needs. Evaluate each program objective and make recommendations for program future
•Evaluate and analyze eLearning program analytics, metrics and course performance
•Develop methods to regularly report on eLearning program performance and distribute to staff and physician leaders
•Identify opportunities to promote and sell at Annual Meeting and Regional Conferences. This includes planning, attending, implementing, and evaluating.
•Manage business plans and vision documents for products, including development and updating
•Works with internal marketing team to successfully market eLearning products using traditional marketing techniques as well as virtual and social media options.
eLearning NEW Program Development
Manages the development of new eLearning programs. This includes but is not limited to:
•Analyze, design, and develop new eLearning programs through opportunity assessment, market research, member needs assessment and financial feasibility
•Develop business plans and budgets for future programs that integrate marketing, sales, operations, and finance
•Create project plans which define requirements to execute program implementation
•Assist in development of new eLearning programs, including analyzing current initiatives, recommending and implementing future initiatives, includes creating demos and pilot programs, and serving as a resource to subcommittee members during program development
Learning Management System Administration
Manages the education products in the Learning Management System. This includes but is not limited to:
•Analyze existing processes and system configurations and recommend enhancements to end-user experience
•Manage projects related to new features, functionality, or changes to system
•Lead quality assurance and testing for system updates and enhancements
•In collaboration with IT Leadership, manages external software vendor contract and relationship
•Partner with internal cross-functional stakeholders to establish system governance and policies
eLearning Subcommittee Liaison
Serve as primary staff liaison to support and implement subcommittee vision and strategy. This includes, but is not limited to:
•Ongoing correspondence and conference calls with physician chair and members. This includes 10+ workgroups for individual programs
•Strategic planning, including analyzing current initiatives, recommending and implementing future initiatives and reporting on program performance
•Create reports regarding program performance and utilization for subcommittee review
Vendor Relationship Management
•Oversee vendor relationships and strategic partnerships for related eLearning programs. This includes software, conference and meeting vendors, and consultants
•Identify, assess and support sales opportunities for eLearning programs, through collaboration with business development and outside vendors
•Responsible for direct employee supervision which includes the selection, training, performance management, compensation administration, and termination of employees
•Leads eLearning team to ensure consistent production of online learning courses that are relevant and engaging to members

•Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Online Learning, Program Development, or related field of study is required.
• Master’s Degree preferred.
•Minimum of 8+ years of experience as an instructional designer, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a people leader leading learning design teams.
•Experience with LMS implementation, evaluation, maintenance, and selection.
•Experience with adult learning theory and instructional design methods is required
•Working knowledge of ACCME preferred
•Experience with eLearning authoring tools – Captivate, Storyline and Castasia is preferred

FLSA Classification: Exempt
Travel Requirements: Occasional travel required – approximately 5%. Ability to legally travel outside of the United States, particularly but not limited to Canada.
Location: Minneapolis, MN and is identified as hybrid (required to work in the office with the ability to work remotely part of the week)
Schedule: Occasional evenings and weekends required
