BrightRidge is your local, not-for-profit public utility. Although known as Johnson City Power Board (JCPB) since 1945, changing our name was considered by key stakeholders for several years prior to the actual change. Our executive leadership understood a rebrand was needed to better reflect the geographic scope of our customer base and better position for new product and service offerings. Despite our new name (announced October 3, 2017), BrightRidge is the same company, but with a new, innovative vision and additional program and service offerings. There has been no corporate buy-out or merger. We are owned and operated by those we serve. We are friends and family serving friends and family.
