The Enterprise Data & Information Architecture(EIA) Sr. Lead - Governance is a shared resource across projects, expected to partner closely and coordinate with project-level data and technology stakeholders across the IT demand portfolio.
This role will also act as an ambassador for EIA, instilling current policies and standards across the broader IT organization, and will provide support to Senior Enterprise Data & Information Architects with proposed data analysis as part of discovery activities. The EIA Sr. Lead is also responsible for providing analysis and support in the evaluation of business impact for requested enhancements to existing solutions.
The position requires understanding of emerging regulatory issues surrounding information assets like GDPR, CCPA, HIPPA, etc. The role prioritizes on enterprise master data because of its high impact across the organization, however pertains to key data of all types such as master, reference, transactional, analytical. The role also focuses on all key business data regardless if it is created internally at Stryker or acquired by 3rd party data providers, and regardless its format (i.e. structured, semi-structured, etc.).
What you will do:
In alignment to EA principles and close collaboration with project data analysts, business data and process governance leads, and other key stakeholders this role is responsible for:
Lead analysis across the demand portfolio of enhancements and identify business impact from the requested data and process architecture changes.
Work with business and IT key stakeholders to define, monitor, and/or optimize the data governance and architecture operating model controls, to ensure compliance of solution implementation to the intended architecture.
Lead alignment to the data governance and architecture operating model, across all projects.
Own data management activities related to the data governance and architecture program metrics.
Lead and deliver the information architecture for smaller scale projects and/or enhancements, such as enterprise Data Flow Diagrams (DFDs) depicting the end-to-end flow of data for these efforts.
Lead the definition of technical standards and guidelines that pertain to data and information use, security, access, and governance. Monitor relevant industry advancements to determine opportunities to improve.
Drive change towards data-driven/informed culture; support and advocate for enterprise information management.
Work with IT Build/Run teams throughout planning and design phases of a project to ensure solution blueprints include plans for data archival where appropriate and sunsetting of obsolete solutions, and that proposed solutions drive penetration activities for standard solution adoption.
What you need:
Bachelor's degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or computer engineering.
Data architecture and/or management certifications highly preferred
6+ years of relevant experience
Knowledgeable in the design and construction of information architectures that enable well-integrated transactional, collaborative and analytic systems.
Experience partnering with various teams across business and IT for the implementation of process/data/system changes.
Experience with modern data tools like Collibra, Tamr, Alteryx, One Trust, Global IDs, etc. is highly desired
Solid exposure and understanding working with any of the following:
Data architecture concepts and data management
Master data management, data governance and stewardship, data quality
Enterprise Collaboration tools
Middleware technologies, API Governance
BI Reporting and Visualization technologies like PowerBI
Awareness and keen curiosity to understand latest trends in data technologies is required
Exceptional interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation and negotiation.
Experience creating information policy to support effective design of information systems and use of information across the enterprise.
Exposure to various information modeling techniques (such as data flow diagrams, entity-relationship diagrams or create/read/update/delete matrices).
Excellent analytical and technical skills.
