The Physical Sciences Division at the University of Chicago invites applications for the position of Associate or Full Clinical Professor to teach in its Masters of Science in Analytics program (MScA). This is a full-time, benefits-eligible appointment for an initial term of up to five years with possibility of renewal. Rank and length of initial term will be determined by qualifications. This is a teaching position with no research responsibilities, including some administrative duties.
The person holding this position must be able to teach at least two of the following courses: Statistical Analysis, Advanced Linear Algebra, Python for Analytics, Data Mining Principles, Time Series, Machine Learning, Data Engineering, Linear/Non-Linear Models, Big Data Platforms, Financial Analytics, Marketing Analytics, Health Analytics, Leadership and Consulting for Data Science. Depending on background and interests, the person holding this position may also be asked to teach other classes in the MScA program.
A PhD in Data Science, Applied Math, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or other closely related field and 5-10 years of professional experience.
Or an MS/MBA with 10-15 years of professional experience in Data Science, Applied Math, Statistics, Computer Science Mathematics, or other closely related field.
Minimum of five years of teaching experience within a university (such as Adjunct, Lecturer, or Instructional Professor) or corporate training environment for professional education.
Experience developing curriculum and new courses in an academic program.
Experience developing corporate partnerships and/or securing relationships with corporations.
Experience utilizing senior level industry connections for pedagogical purposes.
