Located within KPMG's Audit, Assurance and Risk Consulting division, the Audit Technology Centre of Excellence is a growing business that focuses on delivering technology solutions to support external audit engagements. Our specialist team provides data-driven technology-focused solutions to complex challenges for our external audit teams and our clients, identifying risks and providing insights into operations.
As an expanding group, we have opportunities for experienced Senior Consultants to join our national team specialising in one of our Data & Analytics (D&A), Visualisation or Automation workstreams and to help support our strategy by:
Developing bespoke D&A, visualisation, or automated technology solutions to prepare, sanitise and analyse client data to provide evidence and insights for audit engagements;
Using globally developed D&A and other audit tools and solutions to enhance effectiveness of audit and assurance services;
Leading teams on-shore and off-shore analysts in doing the same, providing guidance, mentoring, and training;
Building novel capabilities and solutions with an environment, social and governance (ESG) focus for our audit clients;
Reviewing the work of members of your team on audit and assurance engagements, ensuring that compliance is met by utilising accounting standards under the guidance of the management group in the COE;
Actively adding value by bringing innovation and knowledge into designing and operating solutions as well as sharing knowledge across the team;
Growing our portfolio of services by developing innovative solutions, tools or dashboards leveraging client data;
Evaluating and on-boarding new solutions developed by third parties;
Provide input and contribute to delivering effective use of technology throughout different phases of audit engagements such as planning, risk assessment and substantive testing;
Preparing clear and concise work papers as evidence of work performed in relation to audit and assurance engagements;
Managing engagements and analysing client information to produce accurate reports for audit and assurance engagements;
Developing knowledge of accounting information systems to interpret accounting data in support of audit engagements;
How are you Extraordinary?
Hold a graduate degree in accounting, commerce, STEM or similar. Have a strong background in auditing or accounting and data analytics or technology with approximately 3+ years of relevant experience gained in a Professional Services or major financial institution environment or similar
A commercial and analytical mindset with complex problem-solving skills
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to influence and present your ideas with impact to clients and other key stakeholders
Self-motivated, positive attitude and lots of energy and drive
Experienced in one or more of:
use of data analytics tools for audit engagements, such as SQL and Alteryx
development of advanced dashboards for visualisation, using technologies such as PowerBI and Tableau
development of automated solutions using technologies such as python, PowerApps and C#
