The Member Relations Specialist will be a key member of the Hoosier Energy team, building, and maintaining relationships with Hoosier Energy’s distribution member cooperatives across southern Indiana and southeastern Illinois. Duties for the Member Relations Specialist will encompass but are not limited to, assisting internal and external staff in the development and administration of member cooperative-centric programs, services, and initiatives.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Educates and trains member-system cooperative staff on programs, services, and opportunities published in the annually updated, Hoosier Energy Member Services Catalog.
Serves as primary point of contact for member-systems to connect them with Hoosier Energy personnel and/or resources.
Understands and assists in programming in the following areas:
Energy Efficiency, Rebates, Energy Audits, Demand Response, Renewable Resources, Beneficial electrification, Electric Vehicles (EV), etc.
Maintains the security of confidential information with regards to member system data and Hoosier Energy agreements or non-disclosure agreements.
Stays updated on advances in industry-specific technology, conferences, and workshops.
Keeps informed of rate structures, tariffs, business rules, bylaws, policies, and procedures.
Maintains working knowledge of member-system cooperative services and functions using a library of talking points, frequently asked questions, and job aids to address member issues.
Assists in Hoosier Energy member-centric conference planning. Examples include Electrify Indiana, Key Account Seminars, Marketing and Member Services Conferences, and Member-System Annual Meetings.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Communication or another related field minimum
3+ years of customer/member service experience is preferred

Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge of electric cooperative structure preferred
Knowledge of electric utility terms preferred
Knowledge of acceptable and unacceptable legal documents
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Ability to anticipate, identify, analyze, and resolve conflict and problems
