Salary Stipend is based on experience and ranges from $2,200-$3,000

University Prep is seeking a talented, engaging, and compassionate Middle School Boys Baseball Coach to help us advance our vision of being an inclusive community of learners that provides an outstanding education for each individual in a diverse student population. We are looking for an individual committed to the academic, social and emotional needs and fluctuations of Middle School students; someone who can work effectively independently as well as part of a team. We need a leader who understands best practices in teaching baseball and who is passionate about teaching to Middle School students and enhancing student life. Under general supervision, leads one of the two 6th Grade Middle School boys baseball teams. Season begins on March 14th. Practices held twice a week Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00pm 4:30pm. All games are held between 2:30pm 7:00pm with occasional Saturdays .
Discusses game strategy and techniques with coaching staff
Conducts player evaluations during tryouts and mid-season review
Manages player development based on program core competencies
Works with Asst. Athletic Dir. and Middle School coaching staff to create practice plans that are skill appropriate
Teaches appropriate fundamentals, techniques and skills
Is responsible for the health and safety of the athletes
In cooperation with Varsity Head Coach, articulates a well-defined and understandable coaching philosophy
Applies developmentally appropriate and age appropriate methods to coaching student-athletes
Emphasizes sportsmanship and leadership among athletes
Clearly communicates to players, parents, administrators and staff
Positively motivates athletes and promotes teamwork
Directs off-court curriculum
Attends all meetings and trainings as required by the league and/or Athletic Director
Is familiar with and complies with all policies and regulations as put forth in the schools documents
Since safety and security are everyone's responsibility, takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, faculty, staff, equipment, materials and facilities
Performs other duties as assigned
