As we continue to grow closer with the SC Johnson family, we want to find simple ways to harmonize our systems, programs and policies and start to 'speak the same language' across all of our business units - Lifestyle Brands, Global Consumer Brands and Professional. One of the ways we are harmonizing is through SCJ position grading which allows for greater opportunity for employees to grow their careers across the overall SCJ organization. So while this role will be known as Customer Development Manager within Lifestyle Brands and for externally facing networking, within the broader SCJ organization, the internal job title is Associate Manager, Sales Planning & Operations to ensure we are consistent within the company.
THE ROLE
Based in San Francisco, the Customer Development Manager - method plays a pivotal part in this organization - Working with the Customer Development Director, you will serve as the sales and business development lead across all categories within an LSB brand. You will be involved in virtually every aspect of the go to market strategy and serve as the 'voice of the customer' to the HQ functions. This is a hands-on role with a high growth organization where entrepreneurship, initiative, and energy level will make a difference within the larger organization. This role has day-to-day interaction and exposure across functional leads and the leadership team...and it'll be fun!
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Partner with the General Management team (General Managers & Business Managers) on long term strategy that include
- Work with the Sales Team to develop the strategies and plans necessary to meet the organization's growth deliverables
- Representing Sales in the annual financial planning process to determine how much and where we will grow, and resources needed
- Creating strategies for go-to-market approach and channel development while contributing to the long-term innovation pipeline
- Representing Sales on new product development and commercialization teams and processes
- Partner with the GM, Customer Development, and Sales teams on short term execution of the annual business plan to include
- Collaborating with Sales, Category and Consumer Insights, Marketing, and cross functional partners on all aspects of customer development (new item presentations, customer meetings, analyses, etc) to support the Field Sales organization
- Developing and maintaining a semi-annual playbook for the Field Sales organization that includes priorities, selling materials, and in-store standards (assortment, pricing, merchandising, and promotions)
- Managing the interface between field sales, demand planning, and cross functional partners in the monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) forecasting process
- Owning the strategy, development, and execution of the ongoing seasonal and limited-edition programs
- Responsibility for setting, achieving, and actively managing annual budgets for various trade related expenses
QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of experience in sales and/or Customer Development (business development/sales planning/customer marketing) preferably at a consumer products company
- Selling and/or Customer Development experience with customer-facing experience across multiple channels and categories.
- Strong analytical experience, interpreting and analyzing data (Nielsen/IRI)
- Bachelors Degree
- Must be authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without sponsorship
