JOB SUMMARY
Marriott International is one of the largest operators of full-service, reservable restaurants globally and maintains a growing portfolio of reservations tools and channel partners that drive profitability across restaurant and venue types. The Sr. Manager, Distribution - F&B Acct Mgmt will be the relationship and operations leader for Marriott's relationship with a large global restaurant table management, reservations and marketing services provider, and will be part of a core team driving growth of Food & Beverage revenue and capabilities globally.
As part of Marriott's Distribution Strategy team, the Sr. Manager, Distribution - F&B Acct Mgmt reports to the Sr. Director Distribution US-CAN /Global Wholesale, and will work in close partnership with stakeholders in Food & Beverage, Global Operations, Product, Digital, Loyalty and others.
This role is responsible for executing the day-to-day delivery process of all related activities with assigned account portfolio including building/maintaining strong trusted relationships as well as executing against mutually defined account goals and KPIs. Activities will include establishing operating procedure documentation, expanding product capabilities and integrations, building venue support processes and resources, engaging regularly with partners to drive business success, onboarding new properties, developing and delivering product education, measuring and reporting on business performance, identifying product capability needs and helping to shape long-term Food & Beverage growth strategy.
This position is accountable for assigned tasks including required internal and external relationship and stakeholder management. The position demonstrates advanced knowledge of job-relevant topics, systems and processes in order to pull through of assigned tasks.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
- 4+ years' experience in hospitality or a related industry, demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance AND
- 4-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related major OR
- 8+ years of professional experience in a relevant function, such as channel management/marketing, digital product management, business development or strategic account management, while demonstrating global business knowledge, progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance
- Experience managing and defining transformational strategies for business units.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver results under difficult conditions, particularly when faced with complexity and ambiguity.
- Passion for product management, sales excellence and business development
- Strong account management and influencing skills
- Ability to manage complex account relationships and execute focused account plans
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well within all levels of the organization, especially internal and external senior management
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Executing day-to-day delivery process of all related activities with assigned account portfolio
- Builds/maintains strong trusted relationship with assigned account portfolio
- Establishes and executes detailed account plans and measures success against those KPIs
- Cooperates very closely with key stakeholders, including regional Food & Beverage teams, Marriott Digital, Global Operations and Field Marketing to support global and regional execution of the relationship
- Develops strategy for management of assigned accounts.
- Provides strategy for establishing metrics with each assigned account
- Acts as a resource to Continent teams for partner-specific questions.
Establishing operating procedures, tools and resources
- Drives expansion of product capabilities through partners, collaborating with internal stakeholders to drive integration
- Establishes and distributes content and tools necessary to enable venues to maximize use of partner platform
- Ensures compliance with Marriott IT Security requirements
- Collaborates with technical and property support teams to ensure resources are available to enable daily operation of the platform and that service inquiries are responded to promptly. Enables use of enterprise resources including ServiceNOW and other tools to support business.
- Supports Sr. Director Distribution US-CAN /Global Wholesale in ensuring delivery of contract requirements
Platform education and training
- Establishes KPI metric framework to guide regions and individual properties on platform performance
- Develops best practices tools and content and delivers education via webinars or by other means as requested
- Stays abreast of competitive product offerings and capability needs of Marriott venues. Shares information to facilitate product road map development internally and with partner
- Engages restaurant marketing organizations to establish centralized education and procedures for spend on the channel
Supporting communication and stakeholder management
- Leads/Attends business review meetings as appropriate
- Develops account updates for senior management (HQ and Continents) as needed
- Supports execution of strategic meetings between partner and Marriott senior executives
- Cooperates with members of the Food & Beverage, Global Operations, Digital organization and field eCommerce organization where applicable
