Additional Information:

Greet clients, obtain and document pet medical histories
Provide assistance to the veterinarian during examinations, surgeries and other procedures
Handle basic care duties such as cleaning and dressing wounds, administering medication, collecting blood/urine samples and checking/recording vitals
Assist with diagnostic imaging and lab work, including blood tests, analysis of urine samples, skin and ear cytology
Sterilize tools and restock examination and operating rooms
Inform and educate families about at-home care for their pets
Update patient files and handle other administrative duties as necessary
Assist with hospital cleanliness

Associate or bachelor’s degree in veterinary technology, animal science, or a related field from an accredited program
1+ years of veterinary experience in a fast paced environment
Working knowledge of standard industry tools and equipment
Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
Passion for working with animals and their owners
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Able to restrain larger pets when necessary

About Animal Intermediate Care

We are a new practice opening in Rochester, NY. We will be a walk-in clinic providing medical care to sick but stable patients. We hope to be able to help initiate treatment on acutely ill pets to help them feel their best and go back to their primary care doctor for follow up and chronic care. We will provide wound care, basic surgical services, fracture stabilization, treatment of lameness, ear infections, urinary obstruction, UTIs, vomiting and diarrhea. Diagnostic services include in-house blood work, cytology, quick scan ultrasounds and radiography.
