This position will be based out of our Juno Beach headquarters.
The Board Governance Administrator reports to the Corporate Secretary of NextEra Energy, Inc. and acts as a coordinator for Board of Directors meetings and activities. This position requires a thorough focus on details, planning and scheduling. The successful candidate will be effective working in a fast-paced, matrixed and dynamic organization where expectations are high and may change as the organization grows and develops. Attention to detail, aptitude to follow a process rigorously and willingness to work as a team are essential. Previous experience working with public Boards or dynamic c-suite executives is preferred. Experience working with digital board materials platforms preferred.
Under the supervision of the Office of the General Counsel, the Board Governance Administrator will assist in the planning and be responsible for executing the following:
Organization of meetings of the Board of Directors and Committees of the Board;
Executing plans for all aspects of meetings including travel and lodging for Board members;
Executing plans for logistics for offsite and onsite meetings (e.g., facility selection, menu planning, transportation arrangements, and audio/visual equipment);
Develops and maintains templates and processes for meetings and Board functions;
Follow run of show process for Board and Committee meetings
Ensures Board materials follow a prescribed format. Drafts agendas, meeting schedules and meeting materials required for Board and Committee meetings;
Finalizes and uploads Board and Committee materials and documents to digital materials platform;
Together with the Office of the General Counsel, maintains relationships with directors and acts as contact person for coordination of meetings and travel;
Oversees payment of directors’ fees;
Prepares and distributes annual Directors & Officers Questionnaire;
Maintains database of available Director education seminars;
Compiles approved minutes and complete sets of Board materials for archives;
Processes Word documents and PowerPoint slides per comments received by Corporate Secretary and General Counsel;
