Digital Storyteller

Westover is seeking dynamic, collaborative, and inclusive applicants for the Digital Storyteller position. This is a full-time, 12-month position that reports to the Director of Advancement Communications. This position will ideally begin in the summer of 2022. 

The Digital Storyteller utilizes video, web, and social media platforms to bring Westover School’s mission to life. Deploying communications and marketing best practices, the Digital Storyteller is a critical component of the Advancement Communications team in supporting activities related to admissions, fundraising, and institutional goals. 

Qualifications:

• Has earned a B.S in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field

• Has 0-2 years of experience in a marketing/communications office in an educational setting

• Exceptional photography and videography skills

• Impeccable written and verbal communication skills

• Able to create and sustain partnerships with campus offices to achieve dually agreed-upon goals

• Possess strong technology skills and proficiency with Google Suite, Zoom, Adobe Design Suite, particularly InDesign and Photoshop 

• Able to work with confidential information with discretion and the highest ethical standards.

Responsibilities: 

• Execute the social media content strategy on several platforms; 

• Conceptualize, film, and edit video for web and social platforms; 

• Photograph and edit major school events and everyday moments; 

• Oversee the content and creative direction of westoverschool.org;

• Organize, share, and file digital assets

• Oversee the content and creative direction of bi-weekly e-newsletters and other email communications as directed by the Director of Advancement Communications;

• Contribute to the production of printed materials at the direction of the Director of Advancement Communications;

• Develop and maintain relationships with vendors; 

• Create and maintain strong working relationships with the Office of Admission and the Alumnae/Development Office; 

• Maintain Westover’s brand and style guide elements in all communications; 

• Actively seek to learn emerging marketing and communications trends and technologies; 

• Active and positive participation as part of the institution’s Advancement Communications team; 

• Additional assignments and projects as assigned by the Director of Advancement Communications
