Rye Country Day School is seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant to the Office of College Counseling beginning August 2022. Rye Country Day School is a coeducational, Prek-12, college preparatory school located in Westchester County, New York dedicated to providing students with an excellent education using both traditional and innovative approaches. Specific responsibilities of the position include:
- Work with approximately 100+ seniors and their families, as well as 100+ juniors beginning in January of each academic year
- Organize and disseminate all materials related to students’ college applications, as well as for transfer student applications
- Handle confidential materials with total discretion
- Organize and maintain the office calendar
- Schedule and host over 150 college admissions representatives each year
- Work with college admissions offices to coordinate evening and weekend programming hosted by RCDS
- Create and maintain positive professional ties with college admissions offices
- Work closely with faculty and other RCDS community members
Desired qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- A well-developed sensitivity, knowledge, and understanding of the diverse backgrounds of community members; a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Strong interpersonal skills; a positive attitude, energy, and an inspiring and entrepreneurial leadership style
- Excitement for working with Upper School students and their families
- Excellent oral, written, and organizational skills
- Facility with technology
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to support the extra-curricular life of the school
