The Company:

Platte-Clay Electric Cooperative, Inc. is a progressive, growing, non-profit, member-owned distribution cooperative in the state of Missouri, providing electric service to seven counties north of Kansas City, MO. The Position:

Platte-Clay Electric is currently seeking a Staff Engineer at its Kearney office.

Job Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university

-Missouri Class E driver’s license within 90-days of employment

Essential Job Functions:

1. Responsible for providing member/customers with power quality/reliability investigation, analysis, and resolution of issues.
2. Responsible for preparation of system planning studies, including construction work plans and system sectionalization studies.
3. Responsible for administration, operation, and maintenance of AMR system and assuring integration of engineering software through database integration and manipulation (Sequel, Oracle).
4. Responsible for the administration of all solar contracts, insurance and pole attachment agreements, rules, and regulations and statutes that directly pertain to areas of responsibility.
5. Responsible for engineering duties including overall system integrity, system voltage control, and phase and circuit current balancing.
6. Responsible for administration, operation, maintenance, and enhancement of SCADA system to improve power quality, monitor system operation, and assist in power restoration.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

-A  minimum of five (5) years of equivalent experience.

- Knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices and the operations of an electrical utility system.

-Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, in a diverse range of audiences and settings

-Ability to identify and resolve problems quickly.
