PURPOSE

As an essential part of the day-to-day operations of the Association, this position will be responsible for ensuring reliable fuel supply deliveries, economic dispatching of power generation as well as performing ad hoc analyses to improve the overall efficiencies of the Association.  An Energy Scheduler will be involved in a fast-paced day-to-day environment but will also work interdepartmentally to facilitate accurate reporting of fuel and power generation data and will be responsible for maintaining positive working relationships with other Alaska Railbelt Utilities and Cook Inlet gas producers.

ESSENTIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Qualified candidates are required to have:

-         A bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, finance, management, or a related field or equivalent relevant experience.

-         Three (3) years’ experience in energy planning, trading, marketing, operations, or related field.

-         A valid Alaska driver’s license and a driving record, which is acceptable and insurable by the Association and the Association’s insurance carrier at standard group rates

• PCI GenTrader software suite experience preferred.
•  A relevant combination of professional certification, academic qualifications and progressive experience in logistics operations, supply chain management, or fuel supply preferred.
• Utility generation and transmission system operations, power purchases/ sales, operating policies and contractual requirements experience preferred.
