The Orchard Kids Connect Program is seeking innovative, dynamic, collaborative part-time after-school coordinators/teachers for their 1st-4th grade and Teen Connect (5th-8th Grade) Programs. Responsibilities include implementing creative curricular activities that provide the opportunity for student growth, especially in the area of social/emotional learning; creating a flexible program model to allow for student voice, study/reading time, structured activities and free time; supervising a small adult staff. Coordinators also work within the school for a portion of their day helping in areas that need help for activities and projects. Additional traits to a successful after-school coordinator include a relaxed, yet firm, management style and a belief that the after-school hours provide a valuable opportunity for continued student growth and development.
Qualifications and Attributes
Experience, affinity and enthusiasm for working with 1st-4th and/or 5th-8th grade school-aged children
Ability to work with Preschool-Kindergarten aged children when needed
Ability to make the after-school environment fun, innovative, caring and a safe place for students
Ability to work with technology to support, supplement and enhance student learning and to manage the computerized check in/out procedure
Excellent communication skills
Capacity to inspire others
Demonstrated history of energy and dynamism with children
Willingness to learn and improve professionally
Sound judgment and emotional maturity
Ability to collaborate and work with a team
Willingness to engage in all aspects of the Orchard community

Hours for this position are Monday-Friday 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. during the academic school year (30 hours/week). Additional hours may be available during the academic day via subbing and via our Orchard Summer Camp. Coordinator Salary: $17.50/hour.
