Serves the Cooperative’s members in an efficient, effective and professional manner by providing accurate information regarding rates, billing procedures, products and services and other related Cooperative information while demonstrating a commitment to superior member service at all times.
Job responsibilities include, but not limited to
Assists members and non-members in person, by telephone or through electronic communication regarding inquiries related to their accounts and cooperative services and products and documents the details of these conversations in the IVUE CIS System to ensure superior service is provided to all members.
Addresses account issues, payments and delinquent member accounts by making and enforcing special payment arrangements, informing members of energy assistance options, and performing collection and other accounts receivable duties in a timely manner to minimize the financial risks to the Cooperative.
Works to resolves service and billing complaints to ensure superior member service. As necessary, may refer escalated complaints or unresolved issues to the MSR Lead, appropriate department or manager for further investigation.
Ensures accurate records are maintained for members and Cooperative facilities by making adjustments, opening and balancing depository receipts, performing daily balancing, processing meter exchanges, creating and assigning service orders, monitoring department data and reports, transferring accounts as necessary and entering data for services offered by the Cooperative including, but not limited to, load management, parallel metering, incentive programs and rebate programs.
Assists with completing and reviewing monthly pre-billing and delinquent tasks to ensure members receive accurate information regarding their account and to reduce financial risk to the Cooperative.
Identifies, recommends and assists with the implementation of member service improvements to ensure superior service to the Cooperative’s members.
Provides assistance and direction to employees or Cooperative representatives performing collections or meter related activities necessary to meet service requirements.
Assists with outage calls as needed to help ensure member electric needs are met in a timely fashion.
High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two years’ experience in customer service or billing and collections; or equivalent combination of training, education and experience.
Minimum two years’ experience in customer service experience is required. Experience in accounts receivables and/or collections are preferred.
Knowledge of electric utility and billing functions is helpful. Must possess basic computer knowledge, have good organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to interact effectively with employees, members and the public. Continually keep informed of changing technology to properly perform the objectives of this position. Meet to the satisfaction of the cooperative any job related written, verbal or physical tests as may be required by the cooperative.
