Wolverine Power Cooperative seeks a talented individual to lead our engineering department. The successful Manager of Engineering candidate will be a person who is a positive thinker, agile, proactive, innovative, and has a passion for service to the member-owners and Wolverine's overriding mission.
The Manager of Engineering is responsible for the development and operations of Wolverine's engineering and CAD department personnel. Responsible for the administration of all engineering-related activities for Wolverine's system facilities including system controls, SCADA and metering equipment, interconnections, electrical transmission powerlines, substations, and power generation facilities and includes coordination with other utilities, governmental agencies, and reliability organizations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES REQUIRED
Bachelor of Science degree in engineering is required.
A professional engineering license in the state of Michigan is preferred.
A minimum of 7-10 years' electrical, civil or mechanical engineering utility experience is required.
Minimum of 1-2 years' of supervisory experience is required.
Ability to plan and work in a team and individual environment, with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills required, along with personnel development and leadership skills.
Must have a thorough working knowledge of utility system design, construction, budgeting, planning, operation, and maintenance.
Must have a thorough working knowledge of transmission line, transmission station, and substation facilities.
