We are currently seeking applicants for a Resource Planner in the Resource Planning department of our Engineering & Operations division, located in Springfield, MO. This position is responsible for economic studies and analysis of AECI’s fleet of electric generation resources. Production cost model software is utilized to stochastically simulate economic dispatch of AECI’s fleet of generation resources and the interaction with the wholesale electric utilities markets utilizing numerous economic, policy and asset performance assumptions. Results of simulations and supporting analysis are used to assess and consider risk factors related to AECI’s changing resource needs, new assets, asset retirements, fuel utilization and to provide estimates for near and long term cost to supply energy to AECI’s members. This position is part of a job family and all experience levels will be considered.
To be successful in this role:
Degree in engineering, finance, economics, data analytics or statistics is preferred; or equivalent work or military experience
Electric utility experience and knowledge of generating assets, market transactions, energy contracts and forecasting are preferred
Experience with data manipulation and analysis is essential (development of SQL queries, regression analysis, correlation analysis and financial model development)
Proficiency with Microsoft products, particularly Excel and the use of visual basic or similar programming experience
Strong attention to detail and ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and/or projects to meet deadlines
Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal and team skills
