This member of the Hess Office of Cybersecurity team works with IT and other business organizations. The role focuses on ensuring effective security control designed, implemented, and maintained to protect, detect, and respond to cybersecurity incidents.
This role directly interfaces with internal IT, Managed Security Service Providers (MSSP), and other members of the Office of Cybersecurity.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists in maintenance of cybersecurity policies, standards, and guidelines
Tracks developments and changes in the digital business and threat landscape to ensure risks are addressed in security strategy plans and architecture artifacts
Reviews and recommend improvements for operational playbooks and procedures.
Monitors and improves activities related to the cybersecurity incident response, security tools, and security operation teams
Reviews security technologies and recommends solutions to improve security posture
Ensures monitoring of systems, networks, and applications
Coordinates incident response exercises and incorporates lessons learned
Participates in application and infrastructure projects to provide security advice
Validates security configurations and access to security infrastructure tools
Conducts or facilitate threat modeling of services and applications
Assists in budget activities
Supports the testing and validation of security controls, as directed by the CISO
Servers as an Incident Response Commander, as required
QUALIFICATIONS Experience
Minimum of one (1) year in IT Security Operations
Working knowledge of managing security infrastructure and tools (e.g., firewalls, endpoint protection, vulnerability scanners)
Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure
Working knowledge of NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), NIST 800-53, NIST 800-82, and CIS.
Education, Training & Certifications
Bachelor’s or equivalent experience in computer science, information systems, cybersecurity, or a related field
