The Middle School on the Manhattan campus at the United Nations International School seeks a math/science teacher who believes in the mission and the work of the United Nations. The Middle School math/science teacher will effectively guide students through UNIS’ integrated math curriculum with an emphasis on the investigative approach. Position Purpose
Middle School Math/Science Teacher
Seeking experienced Math/Science educator with a background in Middle School teaching.
This teacher will be a part of a collaborative department with an internationally focused curriculum.
Responsibilities
The Math/Science Teacher will:
Teach math and science using creative and differentiated instructional methodologies.
Collaborate with Middle School math/science teachers to plan student-centered curriculum that challenges students socially and intellectually, and helps them understand the real-world applicability of mathematical skills, knowledge, and thinking.
Support and promote whole school policies and initiatives within the subject area
Work with the Principal, Assistant Principal, Curriculum Department, and teachers of designated subjects to design and support interdisciplinary learning.
Work with Middle School to foster a teaching community built on trust and respect.
Advisor
The teacher will be part of a grade-level team of Advisors who supports the social-emotional needs of the Middle School grade.

Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in teaching subjects. Master's Degree preferred
Experience in a K-12 educational environment essential
Five years teaching experience, preferably in an international setting
Demonstrated knowledge of current research in grades 5-8 math and science education
Strong communication, intra-personal and inter-personal skills
Effective management and organizational skills
Annual Salary in the range of $61,075 to $108,198 (salary is prorated for part-time or temporary positions).
