St. Mary Academy-Bay View is seeking a full-time Upper School Math teacher for the 2023-2024 school year. Faculty at Bay View have deep content knowledge and are committed to student-centered instructional practices. Candidates must be committed to an all-girls education and Mercy Values. 

Specific responsibilities for this position include: 

• Teaching Upper School Mathematics to students in grade levels 9-11.
• Preparing and Teaching 5 sections of math: Algebra I, Algebra II and Geometry.
• Planning, organizing, and implementing instructional programming that promotes the academic, social-emotional, and spiritual growth of students in an all-girls school. 
• Assessing student learning for both formative and summative purposes using multiple measures.
• Employing high-quality instruction using evidence-based practices to support all learners.
• Adapting teaching methods, projects, and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
• Integrating instructional and recordkeeping strategies using Google Suite, and/or other appropriate technology.
• Being flexible, open-minded, and a self-driven team member.

Qualifications for this position are: 

• BA/BS degree in Mathematics or related field, Masters degree preferred
• Knowledge and experience teaching a rigorous mathematics curriculum
• Committed to ongoing professional growth and learning
• Understanding and appreciating the developmental range of the age group
• Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Collaborative skills, including the ability to work with colleagues and parents
• High energy level, creative and forward-thinking
• A sense of humor, warmth, and a love of working with children and their families
• Strong work ethic and a caring temperament
