Key Roles
The Senior IT Help Desk Technician is responsible for providing initial technical assistance to employees via phone, email, chat, and in-person. This position identifies issues, researches and provide solutions, or escalates issues to other IT staff and external resources. In addition, this position maintains end user workstation fleet and systems security. This position requires a patient customer friendly attitude and works in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities
Troubleshoots and solves most user issues, gathers facts, and escalates recurring and significant issues to appropriate IT resources as needed.
Manages end user workstation lifecycle including budgeting, purchasing, and scheduling workstation upgrades and replacements.
Works with IT staff to maintain ERP Security.
Works with Microsoft Active Directory to maintain user accounts and security groups.
Supports cell phone lifecycle and works with vendors to maintain accounts.
Works with the Security Operations Center (SOC) to maintain network security and integrity.
Works with VOIP administrator to setup and maintain VOIP telephones.
Works with IT leadership to develop and maintain IT policies and procedures, and ensures systems are in compliance.
Maintains a record of issues and resolutions.
Maintains an IT “How To” documentation library.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Key Requirements
Education and Certifications / Licenses:
Associate’s degree in computer science, information systems, or computer engineering preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
A+ or Network+ certifications preferred.
Experience:
A minimum of seven (7) years of related experience.
Skills and Abilities:
Thorough knowledge of PC/LAN/WAN communication hardware/software.
Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Active Directory.
Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows Security.
Thorough knowledge of VOIP telephone systems.
Strong listening, written, and oral communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a variety of personnel at all levels of the organization including external contacts.
Provides excellent customer service, maintains positive attitude, clearly identifies issue(s), and communicates possible solution(s).
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
